Venue, Accommodation

The conference will take place in Baku on the premises of “Villa Petrolea” Baku Nobel Heritage Fund and hotels nearby. The Conference programme provides accommodation for all international participants. Nevertheless the NBRC will not be able to cover travel expenses for all selected participants. However a limited number of attendance grants will be available to younger researchers from low- and middle-income countries who present a paper at the Conference.



When you arrive in Baku, we will be offering bus transportation from Baku Airport to the hotel. At the airport, a bus guide will be on site to help you find the right bus outside the main entrance. Buses will also go to and from the hotel and the conference center, the social reception on October 21 and to the dinner at Baku Nobel Heritage Fund ( on October 22.

Visa and Letter of Invitation

Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to entering Azerbaijan. Individuals requiring an official letter of invitation in order to obtain a visa and authorization to attend the conference, please see the letter of invitation (pdf) attached to the invitation e-mail in mid-August 2012.

Please apply for the visa within reasonable time!


Dinner reception at the Baku Nobel Heritage Fund

The Nobel Heritage Fund invites the participants to a buffet dinner at the Nobel Oil Club, beautifully situated on the Nobel Park.
